This Nerd Loves Books!!

I love to read. I'll read almost anything, but I am fairly picky about what I actually enjoy.

Braving the Elements

Braving the Elements - K.F. Breene *Let me first say I was given an ARC by K.F. Breene for an honest review*

I was so excited when I was asked if I would like to get an advanced copy of Braving The Elements. I love K.F. Breene, everything I've read by her has been awesome. I'm really not easy to please. Maybe it's because I read so much, most books fall into the category of "it was alright" for me. Not Braving the Elements, I loved it.

This is the second installment in her Darkness series. I loved Into The Darkness, but I think I enjoyed Braving the Elements more. We get answers to a lot of left over question from Into the Darkness. Like, what each color means as far as power level goes, how Stefan really feels about Sasha, and how powerful Sasha really is. There is a lot of action in this book, without much sex. Don't get me wrong though, there are still a couple of very intense scenes.

I love Sasha, she's a strong character. She's tough, exactly the type of heroine I like to read about. She takes a lot of crap from the people she is sharing Stefan's house with, she takes it much better than I would have. I imagine I would have lost my mind on some of these house members, most of them actually. Poor Charles gets to be Sasha's caretaker, and that poor guy gets pulled right into the middle of more than one situation where Sasha's concerned. Stefan, GAH! I fell in love with that guy. He has a personality, and I loved it. He's caring, and sweet, and maybe a little bit scary at times, but he always has a legit reason when he goes to that place.

This is only the second novella in the series, but I'm very excited to see where this story goes. I have so many questions. I think my main question for now involves crazy, mean, vindictive Darla. I can't really voice my questions though, because I don't want to ruin any surprises for anyone. I will say that I am impatiently awaiting book 3.

I absolutely loved Braving The Elements. I can't wait for the rest of the story. If you love humor, go for this series. It's so much fun to read. 5 Stars!

Dead Petals-An Apocalypse

Dead Petals-An Apocalypse - Eric Ortlund This was definitely a different take on a zombie apocalypse. Strange is a good word for it. I'm still not sure how I feel about the book exactly, because I'm not sure what i read. It's a weird situation.

Pieces For You

Pieces For You - Genna Rulon 4.5 Really

I bought Pieces for You immediately after reading Only for You. This story was fantastic. There are some things that happen in the book that may not be for everyone. I loved Sam's strength, and Griffin's love and devotion to Sam after everything that happened to her. He was such a great guy, her rock. If only all men were like Griffin, the world would definitely be a better place for us women, that's for sure. I fell in love with this story, and the character's. This is not a light and fluffy read though, be warned.

Only for You

Only for You - Genna Rulon I really enjoyed Only For You. I loved Hunter and Everleigh's story. These two were perfect for each other, and the story didn't feel like one I had read a thousand times before. It is a little bit dark, and there could be triggering possibilities. Horrible things happen in this book, but the story itself is beautiful, in my opinion, of course. I loved it.

Into the Darkness

Into the Darkness - K.F. Breene I love K.F. Breene. Into The Darkness was hilarious, I could not stop laughing. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Stipulation

Stipulation - Sawyer Bennett I need more! I can't wait to see how this plays out. I'm glad McKayla is asserting herself.

The Suicide Princess

The Suicide Princess - Anthony Bryan I saw a lot of hooplah over The Suicide Princess so I decided I'd go for it. I can say with complete honesty that I wish I hadn't. This book was not for me at all. I didn't find it hot, or sexy, or thrilling, or any of those things. I found it disturbing, brutal, and really, really far fetched. I got to about the 30% mark, and I had to stop and put the book down...I actually deleted the book from my kindle. After some thought about the fact that I don't ever not finish a book, I re-downloaded it from Cloud, and powered through. I never got to a point where I enjoyed the book. I guess I'm not on the same wavelength with all of the people raving over it.

Saltwater Kisses: A Billionaire Love Story

Saltwater Kisses: A Billionaire Love Story - Krista Lakes Saltwater Kisses was a typical romance. The character's meet, they fall in love, then some kind of problem happens and they part ways, then they get back together and live happily ever after. Emma and Jack meet in the Carribean. Emma won a vacation through a radio contest, Jack was taking a last vacation before he was to take over his father's oil company. They have a week of lust filled days, and then, everything was supposed to go back to normal for the both of them. Different lives, different cities, different worlds really. That's not really how things turned out though. This book wasn't fantastic, but it definitely could have been worse.

Shattered Promises

Shattered Promises - Jessica Sorensen Shattered Promises was definitely an odd read for me. Usually, I don't enjoy PNR, this one wasn't too bad though.

Kaleb

Kaleb - Nicole Edwards This was definitely not a good choice for me. I know some people are into very kinky sex, and that is totally okay, I'm not judging that, I just should not have read about it. This is the first time that I've read a book with this amount of kink, and I didn't enjoy it. It was weird, and maybe that makes me prudish, but it just wasn't for me. That being said, I know there are people who would enjoy quite a lot of kink in their story, and if that is you, you would probably gobble this book up.

Lila and Ethan: Forever and Always

Lila and Ethan: Forever and Always - Jessica Sorensen I like Lila and Ethan. I think they're good together. They are trying to get used to actually being in a relationship and what that means for each of them. Lila is having some insecurity issues over her place in Ethan's life. Understandable really, considering they're both new to the whole healthy relationship thing. It was a good short read, I did find the ending kind of corny, but that is a personal problem of my own. I have trouble with endings period.

Eraser

Eraser - Megan Keith This story was not for me, at all. If I had gathered from the blurb what it was going to be about, I would have just left it alone. But it is done now, and all that is left for me to say is that it just wasn't for me.

Objection

Objection - Sawyer Bennett There really wasn't to much to this story, but that is because it is the first in a series. I think it is a good start. I'm looking forward to reading more of McKayla and Matt's story.
